Official time (24-hour format)
- Es ist zwölf Uhr fünfundvierzig. — It is 12:45.
- Es ist neun Uhr fünfundvierzig. — It is 9:45.
- Es ist elf Uhr fünfzehn. — It is 11:15.
- Es ist sieben Uhr dreißig. — It is 7:30.

The halb rule (German trap)
halb + [hour] = half an hour BEFORE that hour. halb drei = 2:30 (NOT 3:30) · halb acht = 7:30 · halb elf = 10:30 · halb zwölf = 11:30 · halb eins = 12:30. Always say the next hour with halb.
The 25–35 minute rule
Between :25 and :35 the time reverses and uses halb [next hour] plus fünf vor / fünf nach.

Mistakes / focus areas
"halb" trap: expected halb drei to mean 3:30; it means 2:30 — halb always points to the next hour.
Reversing at :25–:35: read 9:25 as "twenty-five past nine" instead of fünf vor halb zehn.
"half elf" for 11:30 — literal translation; correct is halb zwölf.
kurz / fast / gleich easily confused — all roughly "almost/exactly five o'clock".
Mixed up viertel nach / viertel vor when reading quarter times quickly.

- Practice reading clock times daily using the halb and 25–35 minute rules
- Drill kurz vor / fast / gleich / kurz nach expressions
- Memorise the accusative article table (der→den, ein→einen; only masculine changes)
- Write 5 sentences with haben + accusative object (einen Bruder, eine Katze, ein Baby…)
