Teil 1 — Introduce yourself

You get seven keywords and must say one sentence about each:

Name · Alter · Land · Wohnort · Sprachen · Beruf · Hobby

Then the examiner asks you to spell something and say a number.

Teil 2 — Ask and answer

You get a topic and a word card. Make a question with that word, and answer your partner's question.

Card 1

Thema: Wohnen — Karte: Wohnung

Ask

Wie groß ist die Wohnung?

Answer

Die Wohnung ist 60 Quadratmeter groß.

Wie gross…? asks about size.

Card 2

Thema: Wohnen — Karte: Miete

Ask

Wie hoch ist die Miete?

Answer

Die Miete ist 750 Euro.

Wie hoch…? is the natural question for rent or cost.

Card 3

Thema: Wohnen — Karte: Küche

Ask

Ist die Küche groß?

Answer

Ja, die Küche ist sehr groß.

Yes/no question with the verb first.

Teil 3 — Make a request

You get a picture. Ask for the thing politely, and respond when your partner asks you.

One pattern covers almost every card:
Können Sie mir bitte … geben? · Können Sie bitte … öffnen?
Modal in position 2, infinitive at the end.

Card 1 — Bild: ein Licht

Ask politely

Können Sie bitte das Licht anmachen?

Ja, gern.

anmachen is separable, so an goes to the end — but after a modal it stays whole: anmachen.

Card 2 — Bild: ein Telefon

Ask politely

Können Sie mich bitte später anrufen?

Reply

Ja, mache ich.

mich is accusative because anrufen takes a direct object.

Card 3 — Bild: ein Buch

Ask politely

Können Sie mir bitte das Buch geben?

Reply

Ja, hier ist es.

mir (dative receiver) plus das Buch (accusative thing).
